Arnold Schwarzenegger is headed to the Wild West for Amazon’s latest TV series.

Set in the late 1800s, Outrider follows a deputy under orders to catch a legendary outlaw in the wilderness of the Oklahoma Indian Territory. He will team up with a ruthless federal marshal, played by Schwarzenegger, in order to ensure that justice is served.
The limited series is co-written and executive produced by Trey Calloway and Mark Montgomery. Mace Neufeld, who is currently working on Amazon’s Jack Ryan television show, will also serve as an executive producer on the show.
This news comes after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos mandated that Amazon Studios focus on genre programming, in the hopes of capturing some of the success Game of Thrones has seen. Amazon recently approved a Lord of the Rings television series and previously announced a show show in development based on Conan the Barbarian.
