Jamie Lee Curtis shared the first shot from the set of the upcoming Halloween movie on her Twitter. “First shot,” she wrote. “First day. Same slate. Same Laurie. David Gordon Green directing from his script. Happy Halloween 2018 everyone. See you 10/19/18.”

The upcoming Halloween film is the eleventh installment in the franchise and will be set 40 years after the original. It will follow Laurie Strode, the protagonist of the first film, as she confronts her older brother, series antagonist Michael Myers, for the last time. As Myers killed Laurie in 2001’s Halloween: Resurrection, the film will ignore the events of the other films in the franchise save for the original.

Written and directed by John Carpenter, Halloween first terrorized audiences in 1978, spawning nine more entries over the ensuing decades. Curtis last made an appearance in 2001’s Halloween: Resurrection. In 2007, the franchise got a gore-soaked reboot from Rob Zombie, followed by a sequel two years later. While financially successful, the series went into hibernation soon after, with Dimension losing distribution rights in 2015.

Debuting in theaters on October 19, 2018, the latest Halloween movie is directed by David Gordon Green from a script co-written with Danny McBride. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer.
