Dove Cameron’s Mysterious Agents of SHIELD Guest Role Revealed

Back in November, it was announced that Disney actress Dove Cameron had joined the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a mysterious role. At the time, details surrounding her character were sparse, however, a new report has revealed that the character is related to a certain General that we’ve already met this season.

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Dove Cameron will be playing a character named Ruby. The character is said to have a mysterious obsession With Chloe Bennet’s Daisy Johnson, however, the most intriguing bit of information is that Ruby is the daughter of General Hale (Catherine Dent). Fans may recall that the character of Hale was first introduced in the fifth episode of this season, which saw Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter help Fitz escape the Blue Raven Ridge facility. Following Fitz’s escape, Hale later executed her two subordinates for allowing him to do so.

Cameron first teased her role on the series with a post on Instagram that saw her posing alongside Clark Gregg. At the time, many speculated that she could possibly be bringing her Marvel animated character, Spider Gwen, to life on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. — or perhaps her Marvel Rising role, Ghost-Spider. Of course, with her character having been revaled to be someone entirely different, those possibilities are no longer on the table. Cameron will make her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debut in the show’s March 2 episode.
