Black Panther: Shuri Rescues T’Challa in Latest Clip

As it turns out, Wakanda’s princess, Shuri, is not one to be trifled with. A new clip from Marvel Studio’s upcoming Black Panther shows the tech-savvy inventor helping T’Challa escape his pursuers by remotely piloting a high-tech car from the safety of her laboratory. Who needs a self-driving car when you’ve got Wakandan royalty on your side?

The clip also shows off an aspect of T’Challa’s (Chadwick Boseman) Black Panther suit that has been mentioned previously, but only recently succinctly seen in action: the power to collect and subsequently expel kinetic energy. Shuri (Letitia Wright) explains the suit’s power, while T’Challa demonstrates.

Having taken numerous shots from his armed pursuers, T’Challa’s suit starts to glow a light purple — a result of the energy his suit has accumulated from the rain of bullets. T’Challa disappears behind a freight truck, only to reappear atop his pursuers’ vehicle. T’Challa triggers his suit’s energy ability, expelling the purple kinetic force and flipping their car.

Debuting in theaters on Feb. 16, Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.
