Despite a thorough beatdown that established her as Kara Danvers’ (Melissa Benoist) biggest threat to date, it seems that redemption could be a possibility for Reign aka Samantha Arias (Odette Annable) this season on Supergirl.

In the Season 3 midseason finale, Reign beat Supergirl into oblivion, but Benoist herself recently hinted that the Worldkiller — engineered to destroy mankind — may still end up seeing the light. When asked how long would it be until the Danvers sisters discover that Samantha is Reign, Benoist told Entertainment Weekly: “It does seem like it’s only a matter of time. What I think is the most important is how Sam is going to react, because obviously she has no awareness of what’s happening right now.”
“The entire arc of the season is this identity crisis for every character, so if Kara finds out about Sam, if and when, it’s definitely going to be a part of that journey,” she said. Regarding the potential redemption arc due to their civilian bond, Benoist added, “That would be difficult but knowing Supergirl, and how she tends to deal with situations, and how she thinks everyone deserves a second chance, and that you can change and be a better person and a hero, I think she’ll try to help her.”

Given that Reign put her into a coma, Supergirl should be exercising caution when placing such bets, with the fate of the world at risk and whatnot.
Airing Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
