The Flash’s Mystery Girl Will Return

The Flash‘s Jessica Parker Kennedy, who appeared a mysterious character at Barry and Iris’ wedding during “Crisis on Earth-X,” has confirmed she will return for another episode.

“You’ll see me at least one more time,” Kennedy told Bustle. “I can tell you that… You’ll see me again on the show and things will make more sense.”

Naturally, she wasn’t at liberty to say who her character was. In fact, only a few actors know who she is playing. “They have me listed as ‘Mystery Girl’ and I just hang out as Mystery Girl on set. Even [the costume department] are like, ‘Who are you?’ And I’m like: ‘I am Mystery Girl,’” she shared. “It’s been a very secretive mission and it’s been fun to be a part of.”

During “Crisis on Earth-X,” Barry Allen met a young woman just moments before his marriage ceremony. The woman, a caterer at the event, was awestruck at meeting him. She insisted that he say “I do” and even called the wedding “one for the ages.” Despite her big scene, the character did not return during the crossover event and has not been seen on The Flash since.

Though Kennedy has diligently kept her character a secret, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. The prevailing theory is that she is playing Dawn Allen, Barry and Iris’ daughter. Dawn is also one of the Tornado Twins, a pair of superheroes from the future. Another theory speculates she is playing Jenni Ognats, Barry’s granddaughter and future superhero. Kennedy called both theories “interesting guesses.”

Starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster, The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Keiynan Lonsdale and more.
