After debuting it at Comic Con Experience in Brazil, Warner Bros. has officially unveiled the second trailer for director Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, based on the beloved Ernest Cline book.

The new trailer shows what life is like in Columbus, Ohio in the year 2045, with folks living in the Stacks seeking an escape via the Oasis, a notoriously unbeatable MMPORG game of pop-culture references and puzzles. However, when Oasis creator James Halliday dies and reveals that he’s left an Easter Egg for Oasis players to find in the game, an all out war ensues as players seek to retrieve the Easter Egg in order to inherit half-a-trillion dollars as promised by Halliday. Much like the first trailer, the latest trailer features plenty of cameos of iconic characters including Chucky, Tracer from Overwatch, King Kong, the Iron Giant, and more.
Along with the new trailer, Warner Bros. has released a brand new poster for the film, showing Tye Sheridan’s Wade Watts climbing the Stacks. The poster, which you can see below, teases a “better reality” courtesy of the Oasis.
A better reality awaits. Tune in tomorrow at 9:45a PT for a special live stream event with @erniecline. #ReadyPlayerOne pic.twitter.com/X7M4IahKAC
