Barry Allen is a prisoner in the latest promo for The Flash midseason finale. “Don’t Run,” next week’s episode, finds Barry at the Thinker’s mercy after the evil mastermind traps him inside a speedster-proof prison.

In the opening of the promo, Iris informs the rest of Team Flash that DeVoe has taken her husband. Always the protective father, Joe is then seen knocking on DeVoe’s door, demanding to know where he has taken Barry. The teaser shows DeVoe watching Joe, then cuts to Barry’s cry of “If you hurt him, if you put a hand on him,” leaving the threat unsaid.

“The lesson for today is there are no happy endings,” Thinker says ominously.
If a recent casting report is any indication, Team Flash may not be alone when they attempt to rescue Barry from the Thinker’s clutches. Earlier today, How To Get Away With Murder star Kendrick Sampson was announced as Dominic Lanse, “an affable TSA Agent” who now “bears the gift and curse of reading people’s thoughts.” Lanse will debut in “Don’t Run,” though it’s not yet clear how he will factor into the midseason finale.

Despite the dire circumstances, it looks like Team Flash is preparing for the holidays, as STAR Labs is decked out with plenty of tinsel and even a few Christmas trees — one of which gets knocked right over when Cisco attempts (and fails) to vibe Barry’s location.
“Don’t Run” – KATEE SACKHOFF RETURNS AS AMUNET – Amunet (guest star Katie Sackhoff) kidnaps Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and puts meta-dampener handcuffs on her to keep her from turning into Killer Frost. Amunet tells Caitlin she needs her to perform a tricky medical task and if Caitlin fails, Amunet will kill her. Meanwhile, The Thinker (guest star Neil Sandilands) traps The Flash (Grant Gustin) in a speedster-proof prison. With the clock ticking, The Team doesn’t have the time or resources to track both Caitlin and Barry so Iris (Candice Patton) is forced to choose who to save. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Judalina Neira (#409). Original airdate 12/5/2017.
Starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster, The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Keiynan Lonsdale and more.
