There’s a war coming to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but first, they’ll have to fight off a Viking “god.” In the promo for “Beebo the God of War,” the midseason finale, Rip Hunter warns of an oncoming war — but the Legends are a little busy with Vikings who are worshiping an unusual, time displaced artifact.
“There’s a war coming and history needs you to be ready,” Rip warns, though he does not otherwise appear in the promo.

The artifact isn’t the only anachronism that the Legends stumble across. During their mission, Sara spies the younger version of Martin Stein, whose older self died in the “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover. When she spots him, he is trapped in a net.

Sara concludes the promo with a rallying cry for her team: “We are not letting America go Viking.” (She probably never thought she’d hear herself saying that!)
The war Rip is referring to in the promo is likely the fight against Mallus, a malevolent magical force who has teamed with Damian Darhk, his daughter Nora and Amaya’s granddaughter Kuasa. To fight him, the Legends will have to call in Matt Ryan’s John Constantine, who is slated to appear in two episodes this season.
