Devilman Crybaby, an anime adaptation of the classic Go Nagai manga directed by Yuasa Masaaki, will be streamed worldwide by Netflix in January 2018. With the release drawing closer, the series has unveiled the third in a series of main visuals as well as a brand new trailer and has also confirmed the main titles theme.
The latest main visual was created by character designer Kurashima Ayumi and Devil designer Oshiyama Kiyotaka and features Fudo Akira along with his friend Asuka Ryo each smiling strangely while Devilman is pictured below with Demons Sirene, Kaim, and Jinmen.
The trailer highlights Fudo and Asuka’s story while trying to make things easier to understand for those new to the Devilman universe.
In adapting the original manga, there will also be a few brand new characters created for the anime.
Denki Groove’s “Man Human” will be featured as the series’ main titles theme. A popular techno duo that suits the Devilman universe perfectly, Denki Groove also provided the opening for GeGeGe no Kitaro, “Mononoke Dance”. Denki Groove’s Ishino Takkyu will also team up with singer songwriter Nanao Tavito for the special episode nine ending theme, “Konya Dake”. The song, which Ishino has frequently played as a closing number at DJ events, will be released on CD for the first time in a tone generator version.
Rapper Ken the 390 will be joining the cast as one of the delinquents in his first voice acting role and will also be supervising the rap music appearing in the show.
Devilman Crybaby streams worldwide via Netflix from Jan. 5, 2018
