New Promo Asks You to Choose Your Path

When Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters in less than a month, there will be one question on everyone’s mind. Namely, why is it time for the Jedi to end, and what comes next? After those words were uttered by Luke Skywalker at the end of the first trailer, the meaning of that statement has been appropriately vague. But it seems that whatever he means is spurred in part by Rey’s visions.

Just as we’ve seen in previous trailers and commercials, Rey is asked by Luke what she sees when she meditates. And as always, she answers with Light and Darkness, appropriately personified by Leia and the First Order, respectively. But during her meditating, she also sees something else, something actively calling out to her. And whatever it is, it’s got Luke on edge and screaming for her to not go down that road. Given that we know Rey will seek some kind of teachings from Kylo Ren — who was trained by his uncle Luke as a child before that went horrifically wrong — it appears likely she very much doesn’t resist that path.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters on Dec. 15 and stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Domnhall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.
