The Punisher may have just dropped on Netflix, but fans are already begging for a second season of the Marvel Comics-based TV series. Now, executive producer and showrunner Steve Lightfoot has weighed in on the possibility of a second season, saying there are no plans cemented at the moment, but indicating he’d definitely be on board if Netflix wants a sophomore installment of the Daredevil spinoff.
Asked if he knows if a Season 2 is in store, Lightfoot told Entertainment Weekly, “No, I genuinely don’t know how the Netflix system works with making those calls, and I assume once they do [make a call] they’ll tell Marvel and Marvel will tell me and we’ll jump back to it. But I’m very excited to do so. I think we left both Frank and Billy in places where there are so many ways to jump off from if that second season comes. We can do anything with them, in truth.”

Available to stream now on Netflix, The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Farah Madani and Paul Schulze as Rawlins, with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in an undisclosed role.
