Stephen Amell has made his return to the pro wrestling world, and once again the Arrow star wasn’t afraid to get physical.
Amell appeared Friday night as part of Ring of Honor’s Survival of the Fittest Night 1 in San Antonio, Texas, performing in the main event alongside Bullet Club members Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, facing The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian), Flip Gordon and Scorpio Sky. The Bullet Club picked up the win, though not without suffering some damage — including Amell being put through a table by Daniels, an indie wrestling veteran and noted comic book fan:

To his credit, Amell took the table incident in stride, writing on Twitter, “Everyone should do this at least once.”
This is Amell’s second in-ring pro wrestling appearance, more than two years after his high-profile match at WWE’s SummerSlam 2015, where he teamed with Neville to take on Stardust and King Barrett. This time around, he was on a Ring of Honor show, which while considerably less visible than WWE, is the American home to cult favorite stable the Bullet Club — which has permeated pop culture enough to have t-shirts and other merchandise available at Hot Topic stores nationwide. In both matches, Amell impressed fans for showing an athletic prowess unexpected from a TV actor and pro wrestling novice.

Amell was in familiar company, too. While his SummerSlam match found him on the opposite side of Stardust, who left WWE in 2016, he teamed with him Friday night at ROH, now back to his prior ring name of Cody Rhodes (sometimes just Cody). Amell and Rhodes are real-life friends; they’ve partnered for themed wines as part of Amell’s Nocking Point Wines, and Rhodes has guest-starred twice on Arrow, as Derek Sampson.
It looks like Amell is now at least an honorary member of the Bullet Club, as Rhodes shared a photo on Twitter of himself, Amell, Omega, both Young Bucks members (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and fellow member Marty Scurll (seen above), with the simple cation “The Bullet Club.” Perhaps even more importantly, Amell shared a photo on Friday of himself with Rhodes and the Young Bucks at a Cracker Barrel restaurant — a favorite of the group, as documented on the webseries Being the Elite — wearing an Arrow-themed custom Bullet Club shirt reading “Vigilante Club,” which, unsurprisingly, is already available for sale.

Following his appearances in WWE and ROH, Amell is now undefeated — 2-0 — in the pro wrestling business, a feat he shared with his Twitter followers. Whether or not he’ll return for a third match — and can maintain his winning streak — remains to be seen.
