Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, and co. are set to begin filming Season 2 of the Marvel Comics-based series in New York City, in early December, per a production listing spotted by SpoilerTV. The series, despite its negative critical response, will move forward with a new showrunner, with Raven Metzner taking over from Inhumans’ Scott Buck.
The series will presumably aim for a late-2018 or early-2019 release, fitting in around the numerous other series in development. Jessica Jones Season 2 wrapped up a couple of months ago, Daredevil Season 3 is set to start filming next week, and Luke Cage is currently undergoing production. The next Marvel series to stream on Netflix is The Punisher, which premieres in less than a week on November 17, with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle.
“We’re at least four or five months away from shooting,” Jones said in August, “so this time around, I’m being given a lot more preparation leading up to Season 2, which I think is really gonna have a huge improvement on the quality of the fight scenes in Season 2 of Iron Fist.”
