Deadpool 2 isn’t set to be released until midway through 2018, but Fox is already putting in some suitably odd marketing for the movie.

The first poster for the Deadpool sequel was released earlier today, and now we know it came from a special edition of Good Housekeeping — a magazine that shares articles on cooking recipes, diet and health, as well as literary pieces. This may sound out of place for a superhero movie that focuses on action-packed choreography and crude humor, but it fits in the Deadpool series like a glove.
Not only does Ryan Reynolds grace the cover of the magazine as the Merc with a Mouth, but there is a hilarious step-by-step on how to curve a turkey Deadpool-style, which includes an apt nod to viral sensation Salt Bae. Not only that, there are recipes and step-by-steps for “D’s Spiced Nuts” and “Creamy Clam Skinny Dip.”

The Deadpool edition of Good Housekeeping is being handed out in various cities around the United States. “Deadpool’s persistence to be in Good Housekeeping was impressive — initially we had no idea who he was, let alone that he was a fan of the magazine,” Jane Francisco, Editor-in-Chief of Good Housekeeping, said. “But after repeated attempts to ignore his… passion… we came to a compromise. He could appear in one issue, if he promised to stop leaving care packages at our editors’ homes and agreed to maintain a 50-foot distance from the Good Housekeeping offices and our staff.”
Reynolds, of course, was all-too pleased by the collaboration with the magazine.
“After years of weekly emails and countless carrier pigeons, Good Housekeeping finally returned my calls,” Reynolds said in character as Deadpool. “And while it’s a dream come true, apparently we have vastly different opinions on the definition of a ‘holiday spread.’”

The Deadpool series is renowned for its wacky and inventive promotional material — such as the 12 Days of Deadpool, which suited the character perfectly. This marketing, no doubt, played a big part in the film grossing extraordinarily high, considering it was R-rated.
Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 sees the return of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Julian Dennison in an unknown role and Jack Kesy as a villain widely thought to be Black Tom Cassidy. The film opens June 1, 2018.
