It hasn’t been an easy time for Supergirl‘s Danvers sisters. Over the past several episodes, Kara has had to deal with her loneliness following Mon-El’s forced departure from Earth, while Alex just lost her fiancee Maggie Sawyer following an emotional debate over having kids. Above all else, the sisters have always been there for one another during times of crisis, so it only makes sense that Kara decides that the sisters should call in to work and return to their childhood home of Midvale.

In the titular episode, the sisters will head home for some much needed self discovery and R&R in the present day. The episode will also show us, via flashbacks, just how Kara came to discover and grow into her powers as a child and teenager, and how the sisters became as close as they are. And, in some way or another, it will all involve the real life appearance of Kara’s mother, Alura, played this season by Erica Durance.
