Sailor Moon is celebrating its 25th birthday this year! One of the anniversary projects is a tie-up with U-Treasure, a brand specializing in character jewelry for adults. This happens to be the brand’s 20th collaboration project and the first with Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon started its road to success on the pages of Kodansha’s magazine Nakayoshi in 1991 and was translated to 17 languages. It was the anime series, however, that brought worldwide recognition as it aired in over 40 countries, causing a social phenomenon. The series had a resurrection in 2012 under its 20th anniversary project, which included the new anime series Sailor Moon Crystal, musicals, the start of the official fanclub, and numerous other projects. 2017 is also a busy year for Sailor Moon, so keep your eyes peeled for more collaboration projects to come!
Established in 2014 by K. Uno, U-Treasure creates jewelry that embodies characters in a practical, stylish way for adults to enjoy.
At present, K. Uno is the largest maker of custom-order jewelry and the only maker to offer such service Japan-wide. With more than 50 designers working on 40,000 designs per year and over 180 artisans working with the most cutting-edge technology, it was the first company to get a license in diamond cutting in 2015.
The collaboration jewelry will be available for pre-order for members of the Official Sailor Moon Fanclub Pretty Guardians from Nov. 1. This is also when additional details including the lineup and vendors will be revealed, so watch out for follow-ups!
