Hit dark fantasy anime Tokyo Ghoul has announced its continuation with Tokyo Ghoul: re, to be broadcasted in 2018!
Tokyo Ghoul is based on Ishida Sui’s manga of the same name, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump from Sept. 2011 to Sept. 2014. The story then continued with Tokyo Ghoul: re, which is currently running in the same magazine.
Set in an alternate modern Tokyo, Tokyo Ghoul illustrates the battle between ghouls, who feed on humans, and the people who resist them. Its first TV anime adaptation aired in 2014, with a second season titled Tokyo Ghoul √A in 2015.
A teaser visual and PV for the new season has already been released, showing Sasaki Haise and Mutsuki Toru among other central characters.
It’s also been revealed that Hanae Natsuki, who voiced Kaneki Ken in the first two seasons, will be back to play Sasaki Haise.
However, other cast members, staff and specific broadcast details have not yet been announced, so stay tuned for the return of Tokyo Ghoul!
