SAO: Ordinal Scale to Screen in China From Sept. 15!



Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale will be premiering on an amazing 6,000 screens throughout China beginning on Sept. 15, 2017.

The Sword Art Online series is based on the phenomenally popular light novel series by Kawahara Reki. Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale is set in a mysterious next-gen online game “Ordinal Scale” and follows protagonist Kirito. The TV anime series has had 2 seasons so far.

The film first premiered in Japan on Feb. 18, 2017. More than 2,900,000 viewers went to see it in theaters around the world, and it earned a total of more than 3,500,000,000 yen in the box office.

An early screening in China was held on Sept. 9 with exciting appearances by director Itou Tomohiko, character designer Adachi Shingo, and Yui’s voice actress Itou Kanae. There will also be a premium screening in Beijing on Sept. 16 with Itou Tomohiko and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Kirito’s voice actor!

LiSA has also recorded a Chinese version of the theme “Catch the Moment” for the Chinese release. It’s already available for streaming, and this version set to clips from the film can also be found on LiSA’s Twitter.

With Japan’s Blu-ray and DVD release also set for Sept. 27, it looks like the SAO mania won’t be stopping any time soon!
