Guggenheim announced the novel, titled Arrow: Fatal Legacies, on Twitter on Saturday afternoon after an Amazon listing was spotted. The book will be published by Titan books and will hit shelves on January 30, 2018. The story will help to bridge the gap between the show’s fifth and sixth seasons, with the latter currently in production in Vancouver.

The novel will actually mark the third original novel based on the series, following Arrow: Vengeance and Arrow: A Generation of Vipers, with the latter having served as a conclusion to the tie-in to the Flash novel, Flash: The Haunting of Barry Allen. This book, however, will be the first original novel based on the series from Guggenheim, although he has previously written comics based on the CW series.
Starring Stephen Amell as the Emerald Archer, Arrow returns Thursday, October 12 at 9pm ET/PT on the CW. The series also stars Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey, Willa Holland and more.
