The Inside of Spider-Man’s Homecoming Costume


Since it was Tony Stark who personally brought Peter Parker into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fold during the events of Captain America: Civil War, it came as no surprise to see Spider-Man: Homecoming play heavily into the gadgets contained within the wall-crawler’s new suit. Much like the Iron Man armors of his quasi mentor’s various designs, the web-swinger’s digs came fully equipped with dozens of features and combat modes, and thanks to Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development, we can now check out the circuitry that makes Spidey’s multifaceted threads tick.

The behind-the-fabric look at the suit is just the latest bit of concept art Meinerding has provided fans since Homecoming‘s debut last month. Earlier this week, the artist shared a very different design for Ned Leeds, Peter’s best friend in the film, than what ended up making it into the final product. Additionally, he also has unveiled some unused designs for another Spidey suit that was based on The Superior Spider-Man comic series.

In theaters now, director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Michael Keaton as Vulture, in addition to Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
