The opening date for the live-action film Donten ni Warau starring Fukushi Sota has been moved to Mar. 21, 2018. A teaser and intermission video have also both been released!
Donten ni Warau is based on a manga of the same name by Karakara Kemuri that was serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Avarus. Set in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture during the beginning of the Meiji era, the series follows the Donten Sankyoudai who try to preserve peace within the country. The series is adored in particular by girls and women in their teens and 20s, and it was also adapted into an anime in 2014 and a stage play in 2015.
Fukushi will be playing Kumo Tenka, the lively, cheerful, and charismatic oldest brother, which means he’ll be taking on a lot of physical challenges. The other brothers, Soramaru and Chuutarou, will be played by Nakayama Yuma and Wakayama Kirato. In addition to them, the cast will include Furukawa Yuki, Kiriyama Renn, Daito Shunsuke, Koseki Yuta, Ichikawa Tomohiro, and Kaji Masaki.
The major reveals were two new videos: a teaser and an intermission video which you can watch above. You get to see Kumo Tenka battling to protect the peace of his country in the action scenes! Soramaru and Chuutarou also appear in the video, as well as members of Yamainu. It looks like this movie is going to be intense!
