Code Geass Reveals New Film Titles and Release Dates!


For the past week, Code Geass fans have been buzzing with anticipation about the mysterious countdown posted on its official Twitter, and now the big announcement has finally been made!

The first compilation film, titled Lelouch of the Revolution: Koudou, will be released on 21 Oct. 2017. The second, Lelouch of the Revolution: Handou will premiere sometime in Feb. 2018. The third and last film, Lelouch of the Revolution: Oudou will be released in Mar. 2018.

A trailer for the first film has also been revealed, showing that the familiar episodes of Code Geass will be brought anew with new dubbing and new scenes.

Two new spin-off anime series, Shiro no Kishi, Beni no Yasha and Mosaic no Kakera were also announced to begin airing from fall 2017!

The mysterious countdown began on July 21, with a picture of scenery accompanied by the caption “sun_kojiro” posted every day. Many speculations were made about this next big step for Code Geass, and now we finally know when Lelouch is back!

Code Geass began in 2006 as an anime series created by Sunrise, and gained popularity both in Japan and worldwide, especially for the portrayal of moral conflicts between its main characters. It has since been adapted into various manga and light novels, also receiving an OVA. Last year marked its 10th anniversary, during which the three-part compilation film series and third anime season titled Lelouch of the Resurrection was announced.
