After originally appearing digitally and in mini-comic form, Drawn & Quarterly has collected nearly fifty of R. Sikoryak’s The Unquotable Trump features into an oversized “Big League” edition, premiering at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
First published last year during the presidential election campaign, Sikoryak’s effort has involved recreating classic comic book covers throughout the past several decades. Sikoryak’s pieces replace the original cover’s central figure with a rendering of then-candidate Donald Trump, usually as the villain, uttering one of his many infamous and oft-maligned quotes.

The recreations lampooning Trump span nearly the entire history of comics publishing, from classic Archie covers, to Marvel Comics’ Transformers and Godzilla, to BOOM! Studios currently-running Adventure Time. Sikoryak uses a variety of artistic styles in his images, evoking the style of the original while rendering Trump in a diverse assortment of humorous and decidedly unflattering ways.
The volume is published in the size of Marvel’s classic Treasury-sized editions from the 1970’s, with Sikoryak’s cover evoking one of those very same editions. Publicist Peggy Burns told CBR that while the collection is available at the convention, it will not be otherwise officially available until September.
Sikoryak will be signing copies of the new comic at Drawn & Quarterly’s booth at various times throughout the convention.
