Guardians Inferno Music Video Included on GotG 2 Home Release

Burn, baby, burn! The home release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will include a music video for “Guardians Inferno,” the David Hasselhoff disco ballad that played over the end credits of the film. Director James Gunn announced the news on his Facebook page, where he also shared a poster for the upcoming short.

As seen in the poster below, Hasselhoff takes center stage in a white, disco-inspired jumpsuit. Most of the Guardians cast flank him on either side. From left to right, Karen Gillan (Nebula), Gunn himself, Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), David Bautista (Drax), Zoe Saldana (Gamora) and Michael Rooker (Yondu) also don period-inspired clothing. A masked mystery robot stands just to the right of Hasselhoff, but his or her identity has not been revealed.

Chris Pratt (Peter “Star-Lord” Quill), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon) and Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha) have not been confirmed for the music video and do not appear on the poster, so it is unclear if they have any involvement. However, one of them could easily be in disguise as the robot.

Though he appears only briefly, Hasselhoff plays a surprisingly emotional role in the movie. During a heart-to-heart with Peter Quill, Gamora recounts a story from his childhood: when he was young, Quill told other children that Hasselhoff was his father, which explained why his dad wasn’t around; naturally, his “father” was usually filming Knight Rider or touring for his music career in Germany, so he couldn’t be “home” all the time. Later, Quill’s real father Ego the Living Planet assumed Hasselhoff’s form (played by Hasselhoff himself) to mock Quill for being “childish.” Hasselhoff then caps the movie with “Guardians Inferno,” which he performs with a band called The Sneepers.
